Karen Skurka
Karen Skurka is recipient of 2006
Chairman’s Platinum Circle Award in recognition of being
in the top 1% of Sales Professionals in the Prudential Real
Estate Network.
I take great pleasure in being a real estate professional. I love
listening to people and matching them up with the available inventory
whether they need to see fifty places or five before finding the
one that suits them best. I have developed extensive resources in
the industry and can provide my clients with the expertise of experienced
mortgage brokers, lawyers, contractors and interior decorators.
My former work in advertising, video and commercial production has
helped me become expert at handling details, deadlines and all kinds
of pressures - skills I will put to use in assisting you with buying
or selling a property.
Seeing and understanding the world has always been important to
me. I have a masters in International Business from Thunderbird,
The Garvin School of International Management. I have taught English
in a public school in the countryside of Japan and learned to speak
Japanese along the way. My involvement in The Japan Society includes
serving on the Executive Committee and sponsoring Japanese artists’
exhibits. I have traveled all around South America in Uruguay, Argentina,
Ecuador and Peru, South East Asia, including Vietnam, Cambodia,
Malaysia, and Japan - all with the aid of the income generated by
New York property. I continuously seek out good investments as well
as residences for my clients.
My favorite deal was one where I spent an entire week emailing
and talking on the phone with a buyer who had no preference about
where she wanted to live. She wanted a good buy with lots of light
and space. She was willing to buy a wreck and do the renovations
herself and had no time to waste. In one week we came up with a
list of twelve properties - all of which, by my client’s choice,
we saw in one day. She picked one, made a bid and is happily ensconced
in her new place.
